As of today (02/23/21) the Government of Nunavut (GN) is reporting 33 active COVID-19 cases – all in Arviat. First, on behalf of the NEU and all its Members, our wishes and hopes go out to all those diagnosed with COVID-19, their families and all those living in Arviat. Our health care professionals and other ‘front-line’ workers have done a tremendous job in keeping us as safe as they have. It is time we truly unite to ensure that these efforts are backed by a determined and unified Nunavut. This means speaking and acting as one when it comes to following public health guidelines and restrictions and showing unified and unwavering support to those directly and indirectly impacted by COVID-19. Facebook posts and other thanks to those that work to protect us against COVID-19 are always welcome, but the best way to show our true support and gratitude to these courageous and selfless individuals is by committing as one to do our individual parts in this ongoing fight. Please follow all suggested and required precautions and please consider getting the COVID-19 Vaccination as soon as it is available to you in your community.
